More than 500 new wheelchairs have been shipped, but we need your help to complete the journey.
Thanks to a partnership between Agape Mobility Ethiopia and the Free Wheelchair Mission, 520 new wheelchairs are on the way for distribution in Ethiopia.
This is great news for the people of Ethiopia who need mobility but most likely have never even seen a wheelchair before. Their lives will soon be changed with renewed hope and dignity with the gift of mobility.
The wheelchairs being sent are shipped from Beijing, China, to a port in Djibouti, northeast of Ethiopia on the Horn of Africa. Since Ethiopia is a land-locked country, Djibouti is the closest available seaport.
These wheelchairs have been given at no cost to us for distribution. Our challenge is to raise funds to cover the cost of trucking the wheelchairs from Djibouti to our headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the nation’s capital.
The cost is estimated to be $7,000 – $8,000. An additional $10,000 is needed to cover the cost of logistics involved in distributing the 520 wheelchairs throughout the many rural regions of Ethiopia.
While you may not be able to travel to the horn of Africa to transport these wheelchairs, you can move them through your financial gift to Agape Mobility Ethiopia.
Please make a gift now and add “Free Wheelchair Mission transport” in the “Comments” section of the online donor form.
