Fatuma was tending her sheep one day with her friends, not realizing that a fallen power line was close by.

In the ensuing accident, Fatuma would lose not only her left foot but also her left hand and arm up to her elbow.

Her father had to drive two hours from their home to Addis Ababa, the closest place that could give Fatuma medical attention. It was nearly four years before a chair could be bought for Fatuma, which meant that her parents had to carry her wherever she needed to go. Fatuma had dearly wanted to go to school, but without mobility, that wasn’t possible.

Through your generosity and support, Fatuma was given a wheelchair through Agape Mobility Ethiopia, and can now attend school and achieve the education she had wanted so much.
