Our hard-working, dedicated Ethiopian staff and volunteer team recently distributed 350 wheelchairs throughout Ethiopia. From the bustling cities to remote villages, this effort has touched the lives of hundreds of individuals with mobility challenges, offering them newfound independence and hope.

This effort was led entirely by our Ethiopian team. After receiving training from Free Wheelchair Mission (FWM), they showcased their skills by organizing and executing the distributions with precision and care. Regions like Oromia, Amhara, SNNPR, and the capital city of Addis Ababa benefited from their hard work, ensuring wheelchairs reached those who needed them the most.
“This milestone means that distribution of wheelchairs is no longer constrained to only when I am in the country,” said Saba Marcos, Founder and Executive Director. “The local team, who provides compassionate care with every wheelchair, has taken full ownership of the process, reflecting the true spirit of community-driven leadership.”
The team also speaks with people within each community, sharing awareness about disability inclusion and encouraging collaboration to support individuals with disabilities. “Their efforts not only restore mobility but also ignite conversations about dignity and inclusion in Ethiopian society,” Saba said. “We are incredibly proud of our Ethiopian team and their unwavering commitment to this mission. Their work is a shining example of how empowering local leaders with the right tools and knowledge creates lasting change.”
Together, with your support, we are proving that Ethiopia’s strength lies in its people. Thank you for standing with us on this journey of transformation and hope!
